Important Committees & Commissions 2015 For SBI PO Exam

♦Union Government constituted Task Force on Interlinking of Rivers
The task force chaired by BN Navalawala will take up all issues for expediting the work on interlinking of rivers in the Country. It would also consider alternative plans in place of infeasible links in the present plan.
♦Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry constituted Ajay Shankar committee to simplify clearances
The Expert Committee examines the possibility of replacing multiple prior permissions with pre-existing regulatory mechanism and prepares draft legislation for this purpose.


♦Ministry of Railways constituted Ajay Shankar Committee to review PPP Cell functioning
The Committee will recommend measures to make the cell more effective, customer friendly and result oriented.
♦Union Government constituted SIT to reinvestigate 1984 anti-Sikh riot cases
The SIT was constituted on recommendation of Mathur Committee which in its report asked the government to start a fresh probe in the case. The new SIT will be headed by Pramod Asthana, an IPS officer of 1986 batch.
♦Union Government constituted Anil Baijal Panel to suggest a framework to assess CSR activities
The Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs and the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) will jointly provide the secretarial and technical support to the panel.
♦Union Cabinet reconstituted Empowered Committee on setting up of Semiconductor Wafer FAB projects
The Union Cabinet on 28 January 2015 reconstituted the Empowered Committee on setting up of Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication (FAB) manufacturing facilities in the country.
♦Subramanium committee recommended single window system for environment projects
High-level committee (HLC) headed by former Cabinet Secretary T S R Subramanium in its recommendation suggested single window clearance mechanism for green nods as corporates seek short cuts to get clearance for their environment projects.
♦Union Government set up Mathur committee to examine constitution of SIT on 1984 anti-Sikh riots
The Committee will be headed by former Supreme Court Judge Justice (retired) G.P. Mathur. It will submit its report till April 2015.
♦Union Finance Ministry constituted High Level Committee to hear industry's tax issues
The Union Finance Ministry on 3 December 2014 constituted a High Level Committee (HLC) to interact with trade and industry on tax-related issues on a regular basis.
♦Union Government constituted Vishwanathan committee to provide Bankruptcy code for SMEs

Union Government on 20 October 2014 constituted Vishwanathan committee to provide Bankruptcy code for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
