Sir Venkatraman Ramakrishnan assumed Presidency of the Royal Society
Indian-American Venkatraman Ramakrishnan received the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2009 with Tom Steitz and Ada Yonath.
Patricia Scotland appointed as Secretary General of Commonwealth of Nations
With this, Patricia become the first British citizen and first woman as well to hold the role in the 66-year history of 53-member Commonwealth.


Sunil Kanoria appointed as President of ASSOCHAM
Kanoria succeeded Rana Kapoor, Yes Bank Managing Director and CEO.
Michael Keating appointed as Special Representative for Somalia and Head of UNSOM
Keating will succeed Nicholas Kay, who will complete his assignment in December 2015. Kay was associated with UNSOM for over the past two and a half years.
Swati Dandekar appointed Executive Director to Asian Development Bank by Obama
Dandekar, 64, will succeed Robert M Orr, who has held the position since 2010. Dandekar will serve as one of 12 international directors and hold the title of ambassador.

Justice Thakur will take over the office from 3 December 2015 as the 43rd Chief Justice of India.
