Indian-American environmental engineer Kartik Chandran named MacArthur Fellow
Chandran has won the prestigious accolade for his work in
transforming wastewater from a pollutant requiring disposal to a resource for
useful products, such as commodity chemicals, energy sources and fertilisers.

Award
The Pride of Britain Awards founded by Peter Willis in 1999 is
given to British people who have shown immense bravery in the hours of crisis.
Lucknow-based CSIR-CIMAP won CSIR Award for S&T Innovations
for Rural Development, 2014
CSIR-CIMAP was awarded for enhancing incomes of farm communities
through Vetiver based Technological Interventions.
Mathematician Jacob Tsimerman won 2015 SASTRA Ramanujan Prize
Tsimerman is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the
University of Toronto. He primarily conducts research in Number Theory.
EPFO won Skoch Award for Smart Governance Initiatives
EPFO was also awarded two SKOCH Order-of-Merits, one for
launching UAN for EPFO members and another for transformation of Social
Security Agenda in India.
Indra Nooyi, Shobhana Bhartia awarded with 2015 Global
Leadership Award of USIBC
Apart from them, renowned Indian-American artist Natvar Bhavsar
was awarded with the Artistic Achievement Award.
Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai of Odisha won Community Impact
Award at Google Science Fair
Lalita developed a low-cost bio-absorbent based water purifier
that cleans waste water by flowing through difference layers of corn cobs.

Award in US
Prabhakaran, a junior at Thomas Jefferson High School for

British-Indian Sunjeev Sahota shortlisted for Man Booker Prize
2015
Sahota is among the six novelists short-listed for the award.
The winner of the prize will be announced on 13 October 2015.
Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina won the United Nations Champions of
the Earth Award 2015
