All Appointments and Resigns - July 2015

·         Swati Maliwal took charge as Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women
Maliwal had taken charge as the DCW's Chief on 20 July 2015 itself, but her appointment was struck down by the Lt Governor Najeeb Jung at that time.
·         Ashish Bahuguna appointed as Chairman of food safety regulator FSSAI
His tenure will be three years and he succeeded K Chandramouli whose tenure ended in January 2015. Since then the position was lying vacant and the Health Secretary Bhanu Pratap Sharma was given the interim charge of chairman of FSSAI.

·         Ram Sevak Sharma appointed as Chairman of TRAI
Ram Sevak Sharma is an IAS officer of 1978 batch, Jharkhand Cadre.
·         Ajay Mathur appointed as Director-General of TERI
Currently, Mathur is working as the Director General of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) of the Union Government.
·         Maurice Obstfeld appointed as Chief Economist of IMF
Obstfeld will succeed outgoing IMF economist Olivier Blanchard.
·         Bhanu Pratap Sharma appointed as Chairperson of FSSAI
Sharma was given this additional charge of FSSAI for three months or till the appointment of a regular incumbent.
·         Pankaj Munjal appointed as CMD of Hero Motors Group
Pankaj Munjal joined the Hero group in 1988 as a trainee and was appointed as its Co-Chairman and Managing Director in December 2011.
·         Prashant Pathrabe appointed as Interim Director of Film and Television Institute of India
His appointment was approved by Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry. However, he will also continue to serve as the Director of Press Information Bureau (PIB) unit in Pune.
·         Rakesh Sahni appointed as Chairman of Narmada Valley Development Authority
Sahni retired as an IAS officer after serving post of chief secretary of States. However, post retirement, he served as the Chairman of MP Electricity Regulatory Commission.
·         Lt General Man Mohan Singh Rai appointed as Vice-Chief of Indian Army
Rai will succeed Lt Gen Philip Campose, who will superannuate the office on 31 July 2015.
·         Lord Kamlesh Patel became first British-Asian appointee to ECB Management Board
Lord Patel, who currently sits in the House of Lords as a Labour Peer replaced Lord Morris of Handsworth who stepped down after serving for eleven years as an ECB Director.
·         SN Sahai appointed as Home Secretary of Delhi
SahaI is the Finance Secretary of Delhi and had played crucial role in preparing budget for Delhi government.
·         Sriram Kalyanaraman appointed as MD and CEO of National Housing Bank
Presently, Kalyanaraman is Director-Business Development of Equifax Credit Information Services. Prior to joining Equifax, Sriram was Director of Business Clients and Asset Products at Deutsche Bank India.
·         C D Balaji took charge as Director of the Aeronautical Development Agency
Prior to this appointment, Balaji, an outsatnding scientists, was Project Director of the LCA’s naval version.
·         U P Singh appointed as Interim CMD of Oil India Limited
U P Singh is a Joint Secretary (Exploration) under Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
·         Hisao Tanaka resigned as CEO and President of Toshiba
He will be succeeded by Masashi Muromachi, who is presently the Chairman of Toshiba.
