Royal Society’s Copley Medal, the world's oldest scientific prize
Higgs received the Copley Medal for his fundamental contribution
to particle physics with his theory explaining the Higgs Boson, which was
confirmed by the experiments at the Large Hadron Collider in 2012.

The name was announced by the K K Birla Foundation and he is the
24th recipient of the award.
