Zia Haider Rahman won the award for his debut novel In the Light
of What We Know during the 2015 Edinburgh international book festival.

In 2014, the award was conferred on Gurmail Singh (Hockey),

The selection of awardees was based on the recommendations
of the Selection Committee headed by Justice VK Bali, former Chief Justice of

The approved awards include two Kirti Chakras, 10 Shaurya
Chakras, one Bar to Sena Medal (Gallantry), 49 Sena Medals (Gallantry), two Nao

Mustansir Barma won 2015 Gujar Mal Modi award for innovative
science and technology
Barma, a distinguished Professor and former Director of Tata
Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, has made immense contribution in the
field of Statistical Physics in India.

Veerappa Moily
In the poem Ramayana Mahaveshanam, Moily tried to explore the
Ramarajya or the true principle of the ideal State from a secular and modern
point of view in his collection of poems.
Raghavendra Gadagkar awarded with Germany's Cross of Order of
the Merit
He was bestowed with the honour for his contribution in the
field of behavioural ecology and sociobiology and for strengthening research
corporation between India and Germany.
Ajeet Kumar Saroj, Varanasi jail inmate awarded with IGNOU gold
medal
Ajeet, who is serving a 10-year imprisonment, was lodged in jail
in February 2012. He has pursued four certificate courses from IGNOU before
pursuing the Diploma in Tourism Studies.
Goa Tourism Minister Parulekar conferred with PATWA 2015 award
Parulekar is the first tourism minister of Goa to receive this
prestigious award.
Zhanna Nemtsova awarded with Poland's Solidarity Prize 2015
She received 1.1 million US dollars human rights prize as a
recognition. Presently, Nemtsova works for German broadcaster Deutsche Welle in
Berlin.
Mathematician Amalendu Krishna won 2015 Ramanujan Prize
He was bestowed with this award for his outstanding
contributions in the area of algebraic cycles, algebraic K-theory and the
theory of motives.
Hindi litterateur Kashinath Singh chosen for Bharat Bharti
literary award 2014
